Boon Fluid + Benders

Boon Fluid

What is it?
*"This streamlined toddler cup has an ergonomic, two-handed grip that is perfect for small hands. The angled spout requires less head tipping, making it more comfortable to use."

Positives: Cool shape! The boys love that they can slide their arm through the middle and carry it around like a purse. We had a few fights when the Fluid was first introduced.

Negatives:
I feel like I'm playing Russian Roulette (with juice) when I fasten the cap and hand it over; I never know if it's going to leak or not. Most of the time, it does. I'm also afraid to put anything besides water in it because I still can't figure out how to reach the inside, bottom of the sippy cup to clean it.

Final Word:
You'd be better of spending your money on something else. While the idea was nice, if you're wanting to protect your carpets from spills the Fluid is not the cup for you.

Boon Benders

What is it? *"When first-time eaters start using utensils, their motor skills are not fully developed. Benders adaptable utensils were designed to help make the transition to regular utensils a little easier. Parents can position the adjustable end to the perfect angle to accommodate the child’s grip. As motor skills develop, adjust little by little, until straightened."

Positives: Being able to bend the silverware to the perfect angle is awesome. The spoon + fork bend easily and stay put.

Negatives: Both the spoon and fork are too small for any child that is older than 8 months or so. It's also super hard to scoop anything besides baby food or say, applesauce - with the combination of how small the "scoop" part of the utensils are and that the fork curves up like a spoon, it was too difficult for my 1 1/2 year old to get anything onto either one. He tossed them aside in favor of his fingers.

Final Word: The price is reasonable and worth it for your 6-12 month-old who is just learning to eat on their own and are mainly trying to feed themselves pureed foods. Past that, you'll want to invest in a different set or risk their annoyance. I wish Boon would make a set for older toddlers becuase I would be first in line to buy them!
