Heard Around Town: Vitamin D

"Lack of Vitamin D in Children 'Shocking'"

1. why would it be "shocking"? Any sane person knows that kids barely spend anytime outdoors as compared to before tv and game stations and computers entered the scene. We also know that everyone eats tons more junk food than before. This should not come as a shock to..."them"

2. Why are they recommending a Vitamin D supplement for kids? Wouldn't the most obvious solution be to turn of the electronics and send the beasts outside for a good hour or two of creative play? Supplements should not even be mentioned. If they'd start fixing the actual problem instead of the results of the problem, we'd probably get somewhere.

I swear, America is getting dumber by the minute.

You're welcome.
