Amy Inspired

Amy Inspired
by Bethany Pierce

From the book: Amy Gallagher, aspiring writer, has an unabashed obsession with words. She gave up a steady, albeit unexciting, job to pursue a life of writing. However, two years and one master's degree later, she finds herself almost exactly right back where she started. Discouraged by the growing pile of rejections from publishers and afraid that she has settled, Amy knows something has to change.

Then she meets the mysterious, attractive, and unavailable Eli. Amy finds herself struggling to walk the fine line between friendship and something more with Eli, even as she tries to cope with the feeling that her friends and family are moving on without her. When the unexpected begins pouring in, Amy doubts the love and fulfillment she seeks will ever come her way. Forced to take a close look at who she has become, the state of her faith, and her aspirations for her life, she must make a choice: play it safe yet again or finally find the courage to follow her dreams.

From me: Amy Inspired is a novel about an aspiring writer who has a pile of rejection letters, writer's block and a job as an English professor to pay the bills. Her love life is non-existent and to top it all off, her best friend is a success in the writing world. Needless to say, Amy is not feeling very accomplished at all. We get to join her as she takes a long hard look at herself and decides who she is and what she really wants out of life.

While the book moves at a fairly even keel, I think many people can identify with Amy's feelings of failure and that is what makes this book such a good read. I enjoyed it.

My rating: 4 out of 5. A good read.

Thanks to Bethany House Publishers for offering me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Just popped in to say Hi and hope you are having a great week. Our temps are supposed to get up near 60 this weekend so maybe we'll loose some of our snow.
